Went to a bar called “Bar”
Buying your first home can be many things – exciting, scary, daunting… We were lucky enough to be surrounded by wonderful people throughout the process, including the sellers of our home. They couldn’t have been kinder & even left some things behind (besides a very well loved & well-kept home), which at first I thought they might have just forgot or didn’t want, but now realize were probably left for a reason & as a gesture of kindness on their part: a loaf of bread, a new bag of sugar, a fresh box of cookies, & some other very useful things like brooms & dustpans, etc.
The more I reflect on this – as we have been hard at work, preparing our new home to move into (painting, refinishing floors, etc.) – the more I realize how lucky we are to have such wonderful stories to tell about our home…both before we lived here (i.e. the wife/mother who lived in our home before us was a ping pong champion) & after we purchased the home ourselves. It’s refreshing to know that there are people out there who make an effort to pay it forward & who leave a bag of sugar behind!
Well, we finally did it – we are officially homeowners for the first time in our lives & are thrilled about our new home! We’ve selected paint for the interior & hope to start on that project sometime this week. We ended up selecting Benjamin Moore Regal® Select Waterborne Interior Paint for our interior walls & narrowed down our color choices to 4 different interior colors for different rooms (Super White, Soft Chamois, Revere Pewter, & London Fog). We plan on using Winter Snow for the trim & Ceiling White for the ceilings throughout the house. Stay tuned for before & after photos & wish us luck!
