Halloween is now just two days away. If you’re looking for costume ideas and you suddenly find yourself in need of one (D’oh!), never fear…there are plenty of creative and fun, DIY options out there; take a look at these art history-inspired costumes, for example. I am lucky to be married to an incredibly creative and crafty fella myself, who came up with and made this pixel-head costume all by himself back in 2010; this came after his equally amazing, homemade robot costume. How about Magnum, P.I.? Now sit back, relax (perhaps with a glass of 19 Crimes Red Blend, which I think is appropriate for the holiday), and enjoy the holiday!
We were thrilled to visit Flower House this weekend and it did not disappoint; it was amazing, beautiful, and inspiring – like Disneyland with flowers…only better! This video almost made me cry. P.S. Lisa Waud is awesome! The photo above are some stems we took home with us from Flower House. You can view more photos we took at Flower House here.
Apples, mums, pumpkins and gourds, oh my! Continuing to watch the leaves change and the weather turn cooler with each passing day. Fall is a glorious, glorious thing here in Michigan – just take a look at this…
Suddenly, it’s October; it seems as though it snuck up on me somehow. Ryan did an artist talk at Savannah College of Art & Design this week and our friend, Lisa Waud, is doing this amazing project and was featured on Martha Stewart…hey, I know them! In other news, the fall weather is still really beautiful here and there’s definitely that cool, crisp, fall nip in the air; I’m just itching to turn on our fireplace for the first time this season and I might just have to do that over the weekend. I’m loving Oktoberfest this time of the year (Wolverine and Great Lakes make a good one!) and the amazing selection of antique apples here in Michigan too – we picked up an assorted bag of them at a local grocery store the other day. Finally, I wish you all a very happy college football weekend…unless you’re routing for Baylor, in which case I really hope you lose (go Red Raiders, wreck ’em Tech)!
