Christmas cheer

another Ryan Molloy original, coming to a mailbox near you 😊

Our Christmas cards (another Ryan Molloy original!) are in the mail and, short of treating myself to a glass of soy eggnog,  I am ready…bring on the Christmas! I’ve got a whole box of holiday movies ready to be watched; here’s a few of my favorites…

Thinking of doing some holiday baking?

Wishing you and yours the happiest of holidays!

Wrappinville

wrapping

Not only am I lucky enough to be married to a most amazing, incredibly talented, creative guy who personally designs our holiday cards each year, he’s also a wrapping ninja! Ryan wraps a gift really well, better than I ever can (but I tie better bows…I have to have something!), and he does it in less time than it takes me too. And on that note, have you seen this?

Our halls are decked (we even put up some mistletoe!), we did a marathon gift-wrapping session yesterday too, and I’m just about ready for Christmas to be here – just need to put those holiday cards in the mail! Here’s a few photos of our cozy Christmas home…

Christmas time in A2 & Happy Hanukkah

Christmas time in A2

We enjoyed a fun weekend full of holiday activities, like Midnight Madness in downtown Ann Arbor which had us stopping in many of our favorite, local shops to pick up Christmas gifts, a visit to the lovely Abigail Murray studio for an open house (I walked away with some gifts from here too and I couldn’t resist buying something for myself while I was there), admiring the painted shop windows, we decorated the tree (more on that to come soon), hours were spent on designing this year’s most excellent holiday card (more on that to come soon too), celebrating the first night of Hanukkah by lighting the menorah, and at my house you could hear Christmas music and Christmas movies playing all weekend long (yes, A Very Murray Christmas was delightful). Happy Hanukkah

giving thanks

Thanksgiving 2015I have so much to be thankful for; we had the pleasure of spending our Thanksgiving holiday with family in Texas this year, as well as visiting our dear friends Jen and Walter and their family. We had our traditional giant mound of mashed potatoes, as well as other sides and desserts, and Steve and Deb were kind enough to make not one, but two turkeys for our feast – one brined and roasted and one fried. I have to say that I think my highlight of the day was when Tina so kindly fed Deb her cocktail so that she could continue to cook while she enjoyed her beverage – teamwork! We had so much fun playing games and visiting with family and friends and even had time to stop by a local brewery, Franconia Brewing Company, for a tour and tasting before we left. I hope you enjoyed a very happy Thanksgiving filled with delicious treats and wonderful memories that you’ll hold dear for years to come! You can view more photos from our holiday weekend here. “Calms me down right away.”

Thanksgiving 2015

Holly Golightly: You know those days when you get the mean reds? Paul Varjak: The mean reds, you mean like the blues? Holly Golightly: No. The blues are because you’re getting fat and maybe it’s been raining too long, you’re just sad that’s all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you’re afraid and you don’t know what you’re afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling? Paul Varjak: Sure. Holly Golightly: Well, when I get it the only thing that does any good is to jump in a cab and go to Tiffany’s. Calms me down right away. The quietness and the proud look of it; nothing very bad could happen to you there. If I could find a real-life place that’d make me feel like Tiffany’s, then – then I’d buy some furniture and give the cat a name! – from Breakfast at Tiffany’s Fun with Deb at Tiffany's
