We had a weekend getaway in Lake Ann, MI last weekend & the scenery was breathtaking! Much of the fall color is on its way out there, but the woods were beautifully golden. The misty morning on Saturday, crunch of leaves under our feet, bright green moss and evergreen needles, & glimpses of beautiful blue lake water couldn’t have been more perfect.

Sunrise from the air

We flew to El Paso, TX last week; above is a shot from the airplane on the way home early in the morning – what a beautiful sunrise it was! While we were there, we had the pleasure of visiting Carlsbad Caverns as well, which is also quite the sight to see.

365 - Day 311

We had the pleasure of visiting EMU’s Parsons Center for the weekend in mid-October & it was fantastic. It’s really a beautiful place and it sits on 86 acres, consisting of mostly natural woodland and marsh, with Parsons Lake in the center of the property. We enjoyed a wood-burning fireplace, s’mores, tea served in really beautiful china cups with matching saucers, hiking in the woods… Sometimes it’s nice to really just get away from it all! We spent another wonderful weekend in lovely NW Michigan – the company, sun, sky, lake, & more was quite the treat. We brought Melody along too & she seemed delighted to be there, running around in the woods with us!

Before we headed back to A2 on Sunday afternoon, we made it a point to stop at a couple wineries (Brys Estate & 2 Lads) & the Old Mission Lighthouse Park. We’re hoping to make it back there soon – the views are breathtaking & spending the night in a cabin in the woods reminds you to slow down, relax, & enjoy a little time away from the everyday.
