I noticed this rainbow on the wall of our garage; the sunlight was catching the reflector on one of our bikes and the result was this lovely little splash of color on our red brick – how delightful, right? Texas Tech pulled out another win against TCU this week, which makes them 3-0 and makes us happy to be watching college football with a winning team. The weather has been a little odd this week – the high was in the mid-90′s earlier this week and is only 60 today. Last night was absolutely lovely though; cool breeze with cooler temps blowing in, I enjoyed a nice glass of wine, and we had the pleasure of attending a reception for “SightSee: Colin Blakely & Amy Sacksteder” at the Ann Arbor Art Center – great show, beautiful work, and always wonderful to see friends. I think our friends‘ baby (who, by the way, is the most beautiful baby boy I’ve ever laid eyes on in my entire life) summed it up when he said, “Ooooooo, art!” And Melody just won’t stop being ridiculously cute, seriously.
We had the pleasure of traveling back home to Texas in June to visit family and for Abby’s Bat Mitvah. It was really wonderful to visit with family and enjoy all the festivities. And Tina did an amazing job with the desserts and display for the reception! Thank you to Abby, Debbie, and Steve for letting us be a part of Abby’s Bat Mitvah; we love you all and are thrilled to see Abby growing into the beautiful, young woman that she has become.
Happy Summer Solstice 2013! The weather has been pleasant this June in Michigan and our hottest days of summer are still to come of course. Because I love dogs and summer is pretty great too, here are some images for your viewing pleasure…
We were able to get back home to Texas to visit family last week, which was wonderful! We stopped at some delicious restaurants and fun attractions along our way (Chuy’s, Rudy’s BBQ, Dr. Pepper Museum, etc.) and we had some fun with taking these photos…
It hasn’t been warm enough for our Forsythia in the yard to actually bloom yet so I treated myself to some locally-grown stems for the house; nice to have it look like spring is in full-bloom inside at least. I have been excited to see things changing outside too…slowly it feels, but changing to spring nonetheless. Our lilac bushes, among others, are forming sweet little buds which I can’t wait to see bloom!
We have had a fair amount of snow for A2 this year and are expecting more tomorrow. Although many, including myself, are looking forward to spring already – I have to admit that the snow is lovely too. I snapped these photos last Friday morning as the snow fell.
